Tipping is confusing across the globe but nowhere is it more confusing than the USA.
I discovered recently that the American Hotel and Lodging Association has an official guide to tipping. It can be easily printed out and carried with one or downloaded as a photo or bookmark on my phone.

The trouble is that this card is that it fails to recognize different parts within the U.S.. Do you tip the same in Michigan where the servers/hotel staff might be making $4.00/hour as Washington, where the starting wage is $15/hour? This card would say yes.
