I like the comparison with driving. When I drive across the country, I need to consider fuel on top of the cost of the car. That makes airline fares pale in comparison.

I wonder sometimes when I buy a ticket, how the airline makes any money? I think there probably is a formula that tells me when the airline is actually losing money on me!
