MH 370 Map: Two Possible Routes

There are a few maps showing possible flight paths for Malaysia Airlines MH370. This CNN map shows the extent of the search area. One flight path suggests the plane headed toward the Bay of Bengal off the coast of India, and the other had the 777 flying southeast over the Indian Ocean.

  1. sounds like a well thought out plan, fly to burn up fuel weight and be able to land in less runway space.

  2. It would not take long to dump the fuel, it is often done when a plane needs to land just after take off while it is above landing weight.

    I think it was stolen too but just not sure how they kept all the passengers and crew in the dark until they were out of cell phone range?
