Rainbow for September 11

Rainbow emerging from World Trade in lower Manhattan taken on 10th September 2015 by Queens resident Ben Sturner. Fourteen years later, I think of the day that changed so much of our world when almost 3000 people from over 60 countries were directly killed as a result of the hijacking of those four aircraft. I want to take a positive from the rainbow. I pray we can find a way to bring peace this year. My thoughts to you on this day.

Trip Advisor is my friend!

I am a huge fan of Trip advisor.  I read Trip advisor reviews for pleasure either as a way of armchair travelling or to see what weird and wonderful things people add. I also glean vital information when making decisions about hotels. Trip Advisor reviews have given me great advice on the best services, hotels and restaurants from New York to Seattle to Myanmar,to Sydney. Tom noted it was costing the company $35 to save that $10. Tom noted…

When to use City and Museum passes

The Paris Musee Pass is one of the best kept secrets of the city. At most Museums in Paris, the pass allows me to skip the lines. I most relish, being able to avoid the ghastly long Louvre queue and pop through a mysterious back entrance and into the centre of the gallery. Tres bien! Most cities have some sort of pass that covers the main attractions.  In some cities I will grab one and in others I spurn the option.           Whether I buy a pass or not buy a pass depends on…

MAS 370 could be in 634 places

If Malaysia Airlines MH 370 has landed, WNYC, a New York City public radio station, estimates it could have landed on 634 runways in 26 different countries. “Data from X-Plane provides coordinates for runways around the world. A Boeing 777 pilot is quoted in Slate as estimating a runway length requirement of 5,000 feet [1.5km]. A recent Wall Street Journal article quoted sources stating the flight could have continued for 2,200 nautical miles [4074 kilometres] from its last known position. The WNYC Data News team found 634 runways that meet these criteria, spread across 26 different countries, including such far-flung places as: Gan Airport (Maldives), Dalanzadgad Airport…
