What are your travel plans for 2019?
At this stage I plan to visit 15 countries across the Americas, Asia, Europe, the Pacific. . I plan to visit two new countries this year- probably the two will be in Eastern Europe.
In Asia, I have plans to go to Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.There will be at least two diversions to Europe, one of which will involve Christmas markets!
The Pacific will see me travel around Australia and New Zealand and across to the Americas.
I have now flown 105 airlines. I like to keep adding a couple of new airlines each year and 2019 will be no exception. This year, I want to see if I can finally try either ANA, Eva or Garuda, airlines that have been ranked five star by Skytrax. Every time I get close to trying them, it does not happen!
I aim to retain One World Emerald status through Qantas and get back Gold Status with Virgin Australia.
As per usual, I will be offsetting my carbon emissions and choosing as many low carbon options as possible.
I also aim to run in 12 competitive fun runs in five countries. One outcome will be to raise funds for MS, Cancer and a Children’s Hospital.
I’m also helping organise a team in a homelessness winter sleep out in Melbourne, Australia which last year raised $34,000. Hoping we beat that in 2019.
