Lion King Flash Mob on Jet

Passengers on a Virgin Australia 737 were entertained by  the Australian cast of The Lion King  with a rendition of the opening number, Elton John’s award-winning song “The Circle of Life” The team had been in Brisbane to announce the launch of the production in that city from September, 2014… For some passengers, it could have been  a really fun start to a flight. For others, it would have been a nightmare! Wonder what the nervous passengers would have thought of it? Thou shalt not take a selfie on a statue

This needs to be a new rule for museums after an incident In Milan, Italy last week A student broke that rule last week when he climbed on an early 19th century sculpture called the “Drunken Satyr,” at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera. Not only did he break the rule but newspaper: Milano cronaca reports he broke the statue. The left leg of the statue not designed to hold such weight broke off. World’s Highest Zipline -WOW!

I cannot decide if this would be one of the world’s wildest adventures or absolutely lunacy? The world’s highest zipline advertised as  “a route through the skies mimicking the journey of an eagle in flight” opened between the Maurienne and Tarentaise valleys in France.  The zipline stretches 1,300 metres (0.8 miles or 4,265 feet) across the valleys. First rides for the public took place on  Tuesday 18th February 2014. Airport Celebrates with Teddy bears

Last December marked the 110th year since humanity began flying and commercial flight began 100 years ago last January. On March 27, Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok, Thailand cerebrates its century.   It was officially opened in 1914 as a Royal Thai Air Force base, although it had been in use earlier than that date. Commercial flights started in 1924 and continued until 2006 when Bangkok’s second airport opened. The airport is now a hub for low cost Thai carriers. This comes from the category where one hopes the story is fictional. Alas, it checks out as true. A Westjet pilot was left this note by an unhappy passenger after a routine flight  Victoria and Calgary in Canada. The note-writer apparently had questioned flight attendants about Captain Steacy’s ability as soon as she spoke over the PA system to passengers as the plane prepared for take-off. He asked them if she had enough flight hours to be flying a plane? Amazing video of ship beaching

From 1987 to 2012, the MS Pride of Calais served on the cross-Channel route to Calais. Last year, she sailed between Ramsgate and Ostend. In October, the 26,000 tonne ship was sent to a scrap yard in Turkey. Last week a video went viral of the MS Pride of Calais being run aground at at the Turkish breakers yard. Related articles

Most tatooed man refused passport

The most tattooed man in the UK has had his passport application refused. The passport office refused his reneal  on the grounds his new name was not appropriate. Mr Mathew Whelan legally changed his name to  ‘King of Ink Land King Body Art The Extreme Ink-Ite’ last March. He goes by Body Art for short. He has a driver’s licence in his new name. The British passport office stated that  a policy regarding ‘strings of words or phrases’ meant his name was not permissible. Mr Art complained: :”They want to put my birth name on my passport. More guns at US airports

Most of the Western world knows that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is responsible for safety and security at US airports. TSA agents are visible as the screeners at the airport security points. We know them as the folks who sometimes yell at us or sometimes cajole us us to take our belts and shoes off.
